Roaring 40’s is unique in that many of the participants on our weekend day and overnight trips are members of our frequent paddlers club. This strong local following helps us create very experiential sea kayaking trips. You will find decisions on route and trip objectives made in a more collaborative manner than on most other commercial trips. However you will be lead by a very competent and experienced guide who accepts total responsibility for each and every trip participant. This is the main difference between our trips and other club based activities.
Again unlike other commercial sea kayaking tours we give you a variety of service options designed to keep your trip as affordable as you would like. The base price listed on the calendar includes all the top quality sea kayaking equipment and expertise you could want, but doesn't include camping equipment or food. This enables our trips to be sometimes as much as 50% less than our “commercial” competitors. If you would prefer, for a surcharge, we are happy to supply you with quality camping equipment and delicious camp cooking. (Though beware! You might have to guard your food from the pesky neighbours fending for themselves!)
The last main difference you will find with Roaring 40's Kayaking is that we use a wide variety of mostly single kayaks; so you can be sure of paddling a kayak to suit your size and ability. Unless safety dictates otherwise, we always give you the choice of paddling in single or double kayaks.
